Call Steve To Discuss:
Weekly and Monthly reports, Accounting, Human Resources
(Payroll, Health Plan liaison, 401k admin), and Expense
reports.Steve
comes to us via the U.S. Navy and the
Federal Government. He spent eight years sailing on
nuclear submarines, and then went to work at Mare
Island shipyard teaching others how to repair and
maintain submarines. He finished at Mare Island Naval
Shipyard as the Worker Training Branch manager and was
the shipyard expert on nuclear containment procedures.
When Mare Island was closed, Steve hooked up with Bill
Leigon as Bill’s Executive Assistant, and has spent
the last five years learning the wine business.
“Since I live in Napa, getting involved in the wine
industry seemed like a natural when it came time to
change careers,” Steve says. “Any job where you
get to go out and eat good food and drink good wine as
part of the job can’t be all bad. Seriously, I like
the fact that Hahn Family Wines is a close knit group where we
all have our jobs to do, and we are given the
opportunity to those jobs the best way we see fit.
It’s a terrific work environment.”
His likes include
golf and bridge, although he doesn’t do either of
them as much as he’d like, but his love is music. He
sings tenor in several Napa choral groups, he has
composed several pieces that have been performed by
various groups from Sacramento to San Diego, and he
plays guitar and does vocals in a Napa band that just
cut its first CD. (Steve is the one on the left in
the photo above). Steve made his theatrical
debut in the fall of 2003 in the Napa Valley Repertory Theatre
presentation of the musical "1776".
Steve and his wife, Carol, have been married over 25
years. They have one son, Joshua, who
graduated from UC Berkeley in 2003, is now the Hahn Family Wines
Direct Sales Manager, and who, according to Steve, “Despite
all of our best efforts has turned out to be a really nice
guy, in my humble, unbiased opinion.” |
